Brian Stow visits school to talk Empathy

Last Friday, our 3rd-5th graders were privileged to attend an assembly featuring Brian Stow, the Giants fan who was seriously injured a few years ago by who he refers to as "adult bullies". Brian spoke about empathy and growth mindset, two focus areas for our Lynhaven students. He used humor to share his message of forgiveness and tell his story of how he has had  to overcome huge challenges in learning how to read, write, and walk again after suffering severe brain damage . The students were moved and talked about this all day as we have been talking about empathy as part of our Profile of a Graduate. They will be writing letters of thanks to him and his mom for coming to our school and reminding them how important it is to be responsible, respectful and care for ALL! What an amazing experience for them.
