TK/Kinder Enrollment

Open Enrollment for the 2023-2024 school year began at 8 am on January 17, 2023 & ends at 4pm on Friday, February 10, 2023. Submit completed enrollment documents any day during this period in order to complete the Open Enrollment process. Late enrollments are not guaranteed placement in school. 

Enrolling in Kindergarten?
Children who will be five years old on or before September 1, 2023, should enroll in kindergarten for the 2023-24 school year. Start the online process at home at campbellusd.org/enrollment.

Do I have to re-enroll my TK child for Kindergarten next year?
No. Children who are District residents and complete TK in our schools will be pre-enrolled for Kindergarten for the following year and assigned to the school that serves the child’s home address. (Parents may request a different school during the annual Open Enrollment period.) (Refer to Board Policy 5116.1)

What is Transitional Kindergarten?
A Transitional Kindergarten is the first year of a two-year Kindergarten program using a modified Kindergarten curriculum that is age and developmentally appropriate. The TK curriculum bridges preschool and Kindergarten curriculum. Learn more

TK/Kinder Tours
If you may have a new TK or Kindergarten student at Lynhaven Elementary in the 2023-2024 school year, we invite you to attend our TK and Kinder Tours on Wednesday, February 8th. 

We have two tour hours. Both sessions will share the same information: 

• 8:15 a.m.

• 9:15 a.m.

Please sign in at our temporary Main Office, Room 2. 

If you are unable to attend, this slideshow provides an overview of Lynhaven programs and the school day. 

Scholastic Book Fair- PTA Message
We're excited to announce that the Scholastic Book Fair will be back next week 1/23-1/27.  Your child will have an opportunity to shop during school hours.  They can use an eWallet, bring cash or create a wishlist and you can shop at home!

We are in need of a couple volunteers (see below for volunteer registration forms) for the book fair and we're also looking towards the Walk-a-thon.  Please consider helping out and making these events the best they can be!

Volunteers at Lynhaven
Interested in getting involved? You can! Please see below Volunteer Links to fill out. All required documents should be sent to Yareli D’Amico at ydamico [at] campbellusd.org.

Volunteer Packet 2022-2023  This will be if at any point you will be with students with NO staff supervision. Ex. field trips, yard duty  etc.

Volunteer Packet - No Live Scan Form  For any supervised volunteering. Ex. Volunteering in class, book fair, Los Dichos etc.

Coffee with the Principal
Our next Coffee with the Principals is scheduled for Friday, January 27th. We will be joined by Mr. Shaun Shandonnay, school counselor and he will share some wellness ideas that are helpful for children and adults. We hope you can join us!

Traffic Concerns
If you have traffic concerns about street traffic or drivers near Lynhaven, or anywhere in the City of San Jose, you can complete an online request for traffic enforcement support here. Services are assigned based on the number of requests that San Jose PD receives. 

Attendance & Reported Absences
Reporting your child's attendance is the first step. Please note that attendance is not cleared immediately after notifying. As morning tardies, calls, voicemails and emails are handled in the order received it may take about 24 hours for a reported absence to be cleared, so we gratefully thank you for your patience. 

When calling please clearly state your child's full name, date, relationship, reason for absence and symptoms if calling in sick.

For all doctor or dentist appointments a note is required to excuse the absence.

Gates

The gates are open at 7:55am-8:06am daily , 1:05 pm Wednesdays , and 2:05 pm every M/T/Th/F. 

If you arrive past 8:05am please stop by the front office for a tardy pass.
