Lynhaven Elementary School

School Site Council members needed!

One of the most important decision-making groups at Lynhaven is our elected School Site Council (SSC).  The SSC is composed of parents, community members, and representatives from the school’s staff.  They meet 4 times a year, from 3:00-4:00 in the staff room at school to review the school plan, school budget, and make suggestions and/or modifications as necessary, and also assist in the evaluation of the school’s programs.  Members are elected by the groups that they represent (parents by parents, classroom teachers by classroom teachers, etc.).  Parent/community representatives and alternates are elected for a two-year term.  We are in need of at least 4 members for the SSC. If you're interested in being on this team, please write a short description about yourself (kids, grades they're in, your profession, etc.) along with your reasons for wanting to be on the team and submit it to our secretary, Maggie in the office. I will comprise the information and send home a ballot in the school Thursday envelopes on  September 22nd to be returned by the 30th. Our first meeting will be scheduled in October. Please consider being a part of this important team.
