This is a reminder that the red NO PARKING zone in the front of the school is not to be used as a drop off area. This impacts the flow of traffic down Cypress and Lynn Oaks as cars cannot make appropriate turns due to cars stopped in front of the school. Please drop your children off in the designated spots in our parking lot, or arrive a bit earlier and park in the neighborhood. You are an example of following the drop off expectations for your students. Thank you for helping support the safety of our students.

The State of California launched a new online survey to improve school districts’ Local Control and Accountability Plans (LCAPs).  The LCAPs are key tools for establishing 3-year goals to improve student outcomes and align spending with the goals.

Anyone who is interested – students, parents, educators, community members and others –can participate in the survey and help to make the plans easier to use, understand, and review.

The survey is open until 5 p.m., March 25, at cdefoundation.org/lcap-survey.

A Message from Superintendent Andrew

Federal Court Judge Kimberly Mueller held a hearing to amend her recent ruling pertaining to the protocol for releasing personally identifiable student information by the California Department of Education (CDE). She noted that the large number of objections the court has already received did indicate a high level of concern from the public.

The amended protocol calls for a court-appointed special master for discovery who will have to approve which data the plaintiffs can receive from the California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement Data System (CaLPADS) database. More details are on the district website. (www.campbellusd.org)

Our Jump For Heart community fundraiser kicked off on February 11, 2016 with two spirit assemblies. Our students are doing jump rope activities during morning and lunch recess, as well as during their P.E. and Playworks class time with Coach Michelle. The donations our students raise help support the American Heart Association to fight heart and lung disease and to provide research for new medicines and procedures to promote healthy hearts. The fundraiser envelopes are due Friday, March 18th, and should be turned in to your student's classroom teacher. On March 4th, we will have a school-wide Jump Rope Celebration Day on the playground beginning 9:00 AM.  Classes will be jumping at different times throughout the day!  Thank you for your heart healthy support!

Congratulations to our two Classified Employees of the Year: Mrs. Magdalena Cornejo, our School Secretary, and Mrs. Janet Buseman, our Educational Associate in our Resource Classroom!

Maggie has worked at Lynhaven for 3 years and she is an essential part of our Lynhaven staff. She makes sure everyone on our site has what they need to be successful. She is the first person many of you see when you enter the office. Always smiling, Maggie goes above and beyond to make every person feel welcome on our campus, and every student who interacts with her, feels special.

Janet has worked for Campbell Union School District for 17 years and all of those years have been at Lynhaven! Talk about commitment! Janet works with our Resource Specialist teacher, Miss Furton, and she supports the students in her program. Janet works with small groups of students and one on one, in the resource classroom and in their own classrooms. The students Janet works with are so thankful to have her support and every teacher who works with her knows just how special she is. We are lucky and thankful to have them in the Lynhaven family.

The Campbell Union School District is on a mission to ensure each of our 12 schools is a “School of Choice” for our families and community. We want to know what influences your decision when choosing a school for your children. The responses will help us refine our programs to meet the needs of our students and parents by providing an educational experience that is “beyond the expected” at each of our schools and supporting programs.

Take the survey online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/campbellchoice.

For a printed copy, please call your child’s school or the District’s Public Information office.
