Lynx Bulletin
September 27th, 2024
Dear Lynhaven Families,
On October 2nd lets honor our heroes of our school—our custodians! National Custodian Day is a special occasion to recognize the hard work and dedication Mrs. Maria & Mr. Kim do to keep our school clean, safe, and welcoming. From the unpleasant messes to maintaining our facilities, their efforts often go unnoticed, but are vital to ensuring our school is in tip top shape!
On this day, we can all express our gratitude through kind notes, small gestures, or simply a warm smile. Let's take a moment to appreciate all that they do and ensure they know how much they are valued.
Together, we can show our custodians just how much they matter to our Lynhaven family!

Pedestrian Crossing

School Traffic Safety: Protecting Our Kids and Neighbors
It’s crucial to prioritize traffic safety for our students and neighbors.
With busy mornings and afternoons, the roads around our school can become hectic. Let’s work together to ensure everyone stays safe!
Please remember to drive slowly and watch for children crossing the street. Use designated drop-off and pick-up zones, and encourage kids to use crosswalks.
We also ask parents and guardians to set a good example by practicing safe walking and biking habits. Together, we can create a safer environment for our children and foster positive relationships within our community.
Let’s keep our roads safe and our neighborhoods thriving!
Want to report unsafe driving or traffic violations on the city streets near school? Please report them to the City of San Jose at (408) 277-8900.
Want to request a speed monitor from the City of San Jose? Please contact them at (408) 535-3850.
Please see link below to submit a Traffic Enforcement Request.

Coffee with the Principal provides a unique opportunity for parents to gain valuable insights into the school’s instructional programs and learn effective strategies to support their children’s education. This event allows parents to ask questions and share concerns directly with the Principal, fostering a collaborative environment that positively impacts students' academic progress. Additionally, it serves as an excellent platform for parents to connect with one another and celebrate the school's achievements. All parents and community members are encouraged to attend.

Please see information and links below on how to become a volunteer!
Option 1 (Recommended)

Option 2
Volunteer packet NO LIVESCAN (no fingerprint clearance required) are for all volunteers which will be under supervision by a staff member at all times, for example, small groups within the classroom under teacher supervision, reading in the classroom, any type or volunteering where they will be overseen by staff.

Project Cornerstone

Project Cornerstone Volunteer
Our school has adopted Project Cornerstone's parents engagement program Los Dichos & ABC's, which is part of a country wide effort to build assets in our youth by providing connections with caring adults and lessons that promote a more caring school climate.
The Asset Building Champions (ABC) and Los Dichos are parent engagement programs.
Parents and families can volunteer at Lynhaven by reading specially selected books and leading activities that help teach valuable lessons.
The Spanish-language Los Dichos program opens new doors for parents from diverse cultures to support their children’s school success as well as the healthy development of all young people in their communities.
If you are interested please connect with Community Liaison, Noelia Smith at nsmith [at] campbellusd.org or (408) 556-0368 ext. 4856.
Please note all volunteers must comply with volunteer requirements and processes.
