February is Black History Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the contributions, achievements, and history of Black Americans. It’s an opportunity to learn about the individuals and movements that have shaped our society and continue to inspire change.
At Lynhaven, we will honor Black history through classroom activities, discussions. Families can continue the learning at home by reading books by Black authors, exploring historical documentaries, visiting local museums, or engaging in conversations about diversity and inclusion.
In Partnership,
Lynhaven

Quick Reference for Parents: Your Child's Rights and School Policies
|
- Access to Education: Every child has the right to free public education, regardless of immigration status. Schools are safe spaces and provide equal opportunities for all.
- Enrollment: Proof of age or residency is sufficient—citizenship or immigration status is not required. Social Security numbers are not needed.
- Protecting Personal Information: Schools need written consent to release student data unless required by law.
- Emergency Plans: Provide emergency contacts so trusted adults can pick up your child if needed. Consider legal documents like a Caregiver’s Authorization Affidavit.
- Addressing Discrimination: Report any bullying or discrimination to school staff or via email at quicktip [at] campbellusd.org.
