Lynhaven Elementary School

Lynx Bulletin 11/9/2023

November 9th, 2023

Dear Lynhaven Families,

This week The NED Show came to Lynhaven! The message of NED is simple: Never Give up, Encourage Others, Do Your Best and if students strive to be more like NED, they will have a great mindset for learning!

Don’t forget to ask your student what they learned in the show about having a growth mindset from YET the Yeti, Captain Kindly and during NED’s visit on the spaceship!

Here are a couple of our favorite follow up home resources from the Mindset Mission website. You may want to use these with your child as they are designed to go hand in hand with the program.

Lunch Applications

It is extremely helpful to us to have our families fill out our free and reduced lunch application. This can be found using this link, or going to our district website. The benefits in having our families apply may result in technology grants, reduced internet, food assistance, and improved infrastructure to our child nutrition program.

After School Pick Up

Recently there has been an increase of students picked up late after school. Unfortunately there is no after school supervision, so we ask families to please make accommodations to pick up their students at the end of school day.
**Please note that 30 minutes or more raises concern.

As a reminder school is out at:

TK-3rd at 2:10 pm / 1:10 pm Wednesdays
4th-5th at 2:15 pm / 1:15 pm Wednesdays

Message from  PTA

Hi, Lynhaven families!

We invite you to join us for a school-wide park play date on Friday, 11/10. There is NO SCHOOL, in observance of Veteran’s Day. What better way for the kids to spend their day off than with school friends??

We’ll be at John D. Morgan Park (on Budd Ave.) between 9:30-11:30 a.m. Come anytime! Wear your blue ABC shirt or other Lynhaven logowear so we can easily find you!

Optional: bring bubbles, sports equipment, picnic blankets, snacks, etc.

Hope to see you there!

-Lynhaven PTA

*Reminder * Lost and Found

The lost and found rack is accumulating with jackets, sweaters, lunch boxes and water bottles. Students have access to it throughout the school day. Parents and guardians are welcomed to search through it before and after school hours.

All unclaimed items will be donated during November's Thanksgiving Break.

*Reminder * Picture Makeup Day

Make up picture day will be Friday, November 17th. Please connect with your students' teacher notifying them you’d like for your child to take their picture.

If your student is showing any covid like symptoms we strongly recommend you test them with an at home antigen covid test. If you do not have any at home we have free test kits available to pick up from the front office.
