School News

Updated Wed, Aug 31st

Class lists can be accessed in this folder. You will need your student's ID number to find their teacher and room assignment.

Staff members will be stationed throughout our school to help families and students find their classes tomorrow morning. Several large school maps are also posted throughout our school.

Here are few traffic safety reminders:

  1. Parking may be limited and the neighborhood may be congested with cars during arrival and dismissal this week.

  2. Please allow extra time as you may need to park down the street and walk to school to drop off or pick up your student.

  3. Please talk to your student about safe habits when walking to and from school.

  4. We have asked local police departments to provide support as they are able.

  5. To access the school office, please follow the signs on the fence along Cypress Ave.

We ask for your patience and cooperation to maintain safety around our school during construction and always.

We are looking forward to a great first day of school tomorrow!

Our Kinder RoundUp was a great day. Thank you to Ms. Jan Becher, Mrs. Sarah Day, Ms. Heather Fong, Mrs. Michelle Kilmer, Ms. Noelia Smith and our amazing PTA Board members (pictured below) for all the ways they supported this event. We were proud to welcome so many of our newest students as one team, one community.

Our campus modernization is still making great progress as we approach the start of the school year. The work is going as planned, and our crews are prepared to have safe access to buildings, classrooms and parking when students and staff arrive.

Earlier this week, Lyhaven's Principal and Assistant Principal toured the construction site.

Below you will see the rebar that will be the foundation for our new raised stage in our multipurpose room and the lumber from our two lumber deliveries this week.

Our campus modernization is making great progress as we approach the start of the school year. The work is going as planned, and our crews are prepared to have safe access to buildings, classrooms and parking when students and staff arrive.

Parking

The parking lot will be reconfigured, paved and will be striped. Plantings in the parking area will come later, and will have bark mulch in the interim.

Entering Campus

Access to the school will be on the left hand side of the new building leading to the temporary office in Room 2 and the rest of the site, and on the far right hand side leading directly into the site.  Both of these access points are from Cypress Avenue.

Students and staff will also have access from the parking lot on Ancil Way (in the back).  We hope to open the gate located directly to the right of the new Multi Use building within a month of school opening.

Continued Construction

The construction site will remain fenced from the back of the old cafeteria all the way out to the street so there will be no access to the future drop off lane. Buses will continue to stop along Cypress Avenue in front of the school, just like they did last spring.

The new energy-efficient Multi-Use building will be completed after next summer, as originally planned. We are really looking forward to construction being completed, so that our students, staff, and community can enjoy our new facility.

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding during construction.

Thank you, Lynhaven Community, for helping us to end the 2021-2022 school year on a positive note!

We have enjoyed being together as a community at our Walk-A-Thon, Field Day, Spring Showcase, Kindergarten Celebration and Ice Cream Social, and 5th grade Kickball Game. It was been wonderful to see families, staff, and students all together after such a long pause due to COVID.

We are looking forward to celebrating our 5th graders on June 9th and know that the 2022-2023 school year will bring even more chances to be together as a community.

In partnership,

Mrs. Callaway-Wilson and Mrs. Ramirez

We appreciate our 5th graders, Ms. Fruzza, Mr. Field, and Mr. Alex so much! We are happy that our partnership with Rhythm and Moves will continue in the 2022-2023 school year.

You can check out a short video of our Field Day here.

Our students enjoyed finding the kindness rocks hidden by the kindess rocks club. Each rock was painted by a club member and was designed to bring some more positivity and kindness to Lynhaven.

And in some of our classes we are ending the year with ideas for positive self-talk. Some great ideas here for adults to use too!
