School News
As a parent of two children at Lynhaven, I have a lot to keep track of. I like our three new online apps for different reasons. Each one is a MUST HAVE for every busy parent who wants to keep up with what's happening at school!
1. REMIND--this is great for last-minute reminders from our awesome principal Ms. Rowan and my daughter's teacher too. They can text back personally to me and I can ask any questions I have. LOVE this. It keeps me in the loop and I know I won't suffer from missing out on spirit day reminders, special event reminders, or even classroom events!

2. MY SCHOOL ANYWHERE--this is a fantastic on line school directory of families, faculty, and has a link to our school google calendar right on my phone. Here's where I sign up for school events like the pumpkin walk, the holiday fair and the walk a thon, and I love signing up online to bring a treat to the teachers and see when teacher and office staff birthdays are! This is the app that really brings our community together.

3. SEESAW-- I LOVE getting a picture text from our teacher of some work my daughter has done in class. She suffers from the classic "I don't know" syndrome...where "I DUNNO" is her answer to any question I ask her, especially, "What did you do in school today?"--so this lets me see what's going on and feel a part of her day! Please ask your teacher for details on how to join SEESAW!
I LOVE that Lynhaven is up to date with the latest technology! As a Silicon Valley School, we are RIGHT ON TREND!! GO LYNX!!!

Are you interested in being a representative for Lynhaven school with the Superintendent? Please consider joining the S-PAC (Superintendent’s Parent Advisory Committee) This group of parents meets five times each year. Two representative parent leaders from each school attend. This meeting is held in the District Office. The purpose of this meeting is to establish two way communication between the parent community and the District. Principals are encouraged to debrief with the parent reps soon after each meeting. If you are interested, please contact the office or our community liaison, Noelia Smith, at nsmith [at] campbellusd.org.
Each month we'll be putting articles in the newsletter about helpful strategies to support students at home and school. This month is the Conversations about School!
After School Questions!
"What did you do at school today? Nothing. If this is the question you're asking, try changing it up with your children. Try instead:
What was the coolest thing that happened today? What was not so cool?
What's something that made you laugh?
How did you show your ABC's today or were kind and caring? Who was someone that was kind or caring to you?
I can't wait to see what you did today or what your homework is!
These conversation starters will help you stay involved in school and get a better sense of your child's day!
It was so good to see the packed cafeteria at our Back To School Night last week! Thank you for taking the time to come out and hear the wonderful things we're doing at Lynhaven. It's important that we have the partnership between home and school to best support all students. We, as well as your teachers, are here to support you so don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
Please join us for an all school bbq on Friday, 9/22 at your child's lunchtime:
TK/K/1st - 11:30-12:10
2nd/3rd - 11:56-12:35
4th/5th - 12:15-12:50
The menu includes a choice of a hot dog or a hamburger, chips and a drink for $3.50. This is a wonderful opportuity to meet other families and enjoy lunch with your child. As always , if you will be bringing small children with you, they need to be with you at all times and are not allowed on any of the playgrounds or playstructures due to safety reasons. Thank you and hope to see you all soon!
In an effort to save as much paper as possible, we will not be sending our Lynx Letter home on Thursdays after September 28th. We will have some copies in English and Spanish in the office for you to pick up, if you choose to. We encourage you to sign up on this page in the lower right hand corner to get the newsletter delivered directly to your email inbox every two weeks! All of the flyers that are sent home will also be delivered to your email. You can change the language the same way you can on this page. September 28th will be the last day our hard copy will be sent home. Thank you for helping us reduce the amout of paper we use!
Would you like to get reminders via text message about school events, spirit days, and ask questions if needed? Then please click on the link below to sign up for text message reminders directly from Ms. Rowan! Several families have signed up and your phone number will never be displayed to anyone. Many teachers use the Remind App here at Lynhaven and parents love the ease of getting a text message reminder, to which you can reply if you have questions or comments!
Please join us next Thurday and Friday, January 12th and 13th at 7:00 and Saturday, January 14th at 2:00 for our school play, THE JUNGLE BOOK! It's sure to be an exciting show with our own Lynhaven future actor and actresses! Tickets can be purchased at
