City of San Jose School Street Safety Survey

San Jose City Council instructed the San Jose Department of Transportation (SJDOT) to study street safety outside every K - 12 school in the City following the tragedy near Castlemont Elementary in the Fall of 2022. 

Like all other school principals in the City of San Jose, I have been asked to gather community feedback and provide the feedback to SJDOT. I will submit feedback gathered through this Google Form on behalf of Lynhaven Elementary School.

SJDOT will review and summarize the survey results from all schools who submit feedback, prepare a citywide school safety workplan and a cost estimate for the San Jose City Council to consider as part of the upcoming budget process. If a school safety program is funded, SJDOT will outreach to the schools in Fall 2023 to identify next steps. It is important that your school's input is shared in this survey as we strive for further traffic safety improvements at and near all San Jose schools.
