We are so excited to be preparing to welcome our students back for the 2021-22 school year! Last night we had a wonderful turnout for our Kindergarten Orientation! Thank you to all of the families who came out.

Here are a few important reminders for everyone:

-School begins next Thursday, 8/19, 8:05 for all students. The gates open at 7:55. Students are not allowed on campus before 7:55 as there is no supervision.

-You must have your child's STUDENT ID to find out your class next Wednesday after 4:00 on this website. We do not post student names. The story title will be called CLASS LISTS 2021-22

-Dismissal is 2:10 for TK-3 and 2:15 for 4th and 5th grades.

-Wednesdays are shortened days with TK-3 dismissed at 1:10 and 4th and 5th dismissed at 1:15, same start time

-Parents will be allowed to walk their child(ren) to class at drop off but must leave campus within 10 minutes as the gates will be locked. Masks are required when on campus.

-Parents must wait for their child(ren) at the gates after school, not at their classroom doors or on campus.

--We ask that families leave campus at dismissal and not congregate in the front or back.  Staff is still working and children playing outside of classrooms can be very distracting. The play structures are off limits before and after school and we encourage you to schedule playdates with friends off campus to allow for students to play.

-Please park respectfully in the neighborhood at drop off and pick up. and follow the directions in the parking lot for the drop off and drive through lanes.

Thank you for following our school expectations so that we can ensure the safety of your child at school. See you all soon!

Lynhaven family, please join me in welcoming our new
Assistant Principal, Mrs. Charmaine Ramirez! She is excited to join our community and has written an introduction for you all.

Hello Lynhaven Community!

I would like to briefly introduce myself. My name is Charmaine Ramirez.  I have the privilege of filling the role of Assistant Principal at Lynhaven Elementary School. I am honored to be in this position and look forward to working with Ms. Rowan and the entire Lynhaven community.

I graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz with my Bachelor’s Degree where I majored in History and minored in Education. I later went on to receive my Master’s Degree in Education from Azusa Pacific University and then earned a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University. I have 12 years of teaching experience. I have taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. I have also served on many committees throughout my tenure as a teacher. I consider myself a lifelong learner and enjoy collaborating with other educators who are passionate about closing the opportunity gap and providing all students with a quality education.

I have been with my husband for 25 years and we have four amazing children. We also have two cats and one dog who we love!

My primary goal as the Assistant Principal is to provide a safe and secure learning environment for all students and support the teachers of  Lynhaven Elementary School. I am committed to carrying on the great tradition that Lynhaven has as being a welcoming learning environment for all students.

I look forward to meeting you all! Enjoy your last days of summer.

Warmly,

Mrs. Ramirez

Great News! Our 2021-2022 PTA Board positions were filled at last night's PTA meeting. These positions are required in order to have a PTA or Parent Teacher Association on campus. Here are the names of our board members:
President- Mary Deutscher
Vice Pres - April Maimon
Secretary - Rachel Roth
Treasurer - Mary Bormann
*Please Note:
Two of the four board members will be parents of 5th graders in the fall and will be leaving Lynhaven at the end of the 21-22 school year to go off to middle school. This means we will have to fill these positions in order to have a functioning PTA going forward.
Below are the open Board Positions that need to be filled so that those activites can take place. We need the support of any parents/family members that can help as the team of four cannot possibly do it all. Our parent community has always shown great support for our school and the events we have. If you choose to help with anything, know that it will never be all alone, there are people who are able to support you! THANK YOU!

The Lynhaven 2020-21 5th graders had a great promotion today! Please see a few of the photos below. Thank you to Mrs. Schonig, Ms. Calicchio, Ms. Wong and Ms. Le for their hard work in preparing our students for middle school. We want to wish our promoting class of 2021 the best summer and a fabulous time at Monroe, Rolling Hills or CSI. We know you didn't get to enjoy all of the normal year events that we have had in the past, but the ones we had were definitely fun!Today's virtual promotion ceremony, the pizza/dance party, and the car parade were wonderful! Thank you all for partcipating.

Wherever you go, you are always a Lynhaven Lynx. Whether you were here for 1 year or 6, this is your home. Please come back and visit us and remember your ABC's! We'll expect to be invited to your high school graduation in 2028 too!

Here are a few pictures from today's fun.

As today is our last day of school, Ms. Ajlouni and I want to take a moment to express our gratitude for all of the support you've given us over this very difficult school year. Going from complete distance learning, to hybrid, to full in person instruction took a lot of planning and the success wouldn't have happened if it weren't for our amazing community! Staggered drop off and pick ups, no volunteers on campus, Seesaw messages, and so many Zoom meetings! Let's celebrate our success this last year and hope for a "normal" fall!

**Please mark your calendars for the first day of school on August 19, 2021 and the last day of school on June 10, 2022.  The student calendar for the 2021-22 school year is attached below.

Please have a safe and wonderful summer break and we'll see you in the fall!

With love and appreciation,

Ms. Rowan and Ms. Ajlouni
