Lynhaven's Distance Learning Resources

We are excited to share a new website where all of our Distant Learning plans and resources will be available. The new Lynhaven Distance Learning Hub can be accessed by clicking on the link below. We suggest that you bookmark it as we will be updating it each week.

We know that this is a challenging time for all of us, and especially for our parents who are juggling their new job as teachers with their other responsibilites. While we are providing as many resources as possible to support you, please know that there are expected assignments and enrichment assignments. This is a new journey for all of us and we know it will never replace face to face classroom teaching and learning. Please be kind to yourself and us as we embark on this new journey together.

Hello Lynhaven Families,

We hope you all are doing well and staying safe! All of us would like to be back in our normal routines, but with this change to help keep everyone safe, we have to become familiar with a new normal. We will do our best to continue teaching and learning from a distance. While we were hoping to see you all soon, it looks as if this will be lasting longer. The most important thing right now is that you and your families stay safe and find happiness in your time together.

As you are aware, we will be moving from the optional, flexible learning plans to a distance learning platform. This means that students will be expected to participate with the lessons their teachers are planning. Understandably, we all are dealing with a lot of challenging situations right now, and we know that it can be very overwhelming, but we would not be doing our due diligence if we didn't continue teaching and helping our students learn. It's very important to keep in contact with your teacher about any needs you have and continue to check the district and our school websites for information. Our staff is here to help you. We know you are doing your best! Please take care of yourselves! We miss you all.

Stay Informed with Seesaw

The easiest way to communicte with your child's teacher is through Seesaw! Our teachers will be using this as a main source of information to communicate with you. You can access Seesaw from any device, including your phone. Please make sure you create a free account if you haven't already. You must have a code from your teacher in order to create the account. Below are the instructions on how to set up the account when you receive the code. Thank you!

UPDATED: Grade Level Flexible Learning Plans

We've added the second week of Flexible Learning Plans. Please check below your grade level for the link in BOLD for the week of 3/30-4/3. Our amazing Lynhaven teachers have been working hard to prepare work for students while school is closed. We encourage you to work on some of the lessons in the plan. Remember, the most valuable time spent with family, play a game or read a book together! We REALLY miss you all and can't wait to see you!

Ms. Ajlouni and I miss seeing the beautiful faces of our Lynhaven students and their families everyday! We want you to know that we miss you and can't wait to see you all as soon as possible when this time is over! Certificated Employee of the Year

Mrs. Annie Stephanos has been teaching for 22 years, and the majority of that time has been in CUSD! We are lucky that she has spent the last 5 years with us at Lynhaven! She is an amazing, caring, hard-working teacher who always puts her student's needs first! Annie has been a leader on our campus all 5 years and reaches out to help teachers with anything she can because at Lynhaven, they are ALL our kids, not just the ones in our classes. Please share your congratulations with her. We will be honoring Mrs. Stephanos at our District Employee Recognition event scheduled for May.

Students enjoy Lunch on the Grass

Our students work hard to follow our ABCs and when they do, we have schoolwide celebrations like today's lunch on the grass! These celebrations are for the students to celebrate an accomplishment. They earned 20,000 paw prints and our next goal is 25,000 and the reward will be a popsicle treat at lunchtime!

Classified Employee of the Year

Dianna Maniglia has been at Lynhaven for 9 years as a Para educator for our students with special needs. She has been a 1:1 aide for a student, worked with our students with Autism and currently works in our 1st/2nd grade students. Dianna greets every student and staff member with a smile. She is willing to help any student who needs it and her calm, caring demeanor is consistently present! We are excited to celebrate Dianna at our recogniton ceremony later on this year!

Volunteer of the Year

You can see Mr. Pena all over our campus! He's going to ELAC, PTA, Coffee With The Principal or his turn at volunteering at lunch yard duty! Mr. Pena has been at Lynhaven for 16 years for both of his sons. He wants to make our school the best it can be and anything he can offer help with, he will! We are excited to honor him at our recognition ceremony later on this year! Thank you Luis for being a role model for students on how to support others.

Kid's Heart Challenge!

Our Kid's Heart Challenge/Jump Rope For Heart event last Friday was great! We're currently at $3,000.00 and that's very close to our goal of $5705.00. The students REALLY want to meet this goal not only because we will exceed our past goal and help a lot of children with heart disease, but they will also be able to "SLIME MS.ROWAN"!
And they REALLY want to do this!! All donations must be turned in by 2/12! Thank you for your support!
